Enjoy It While You Can Chicky Baby!

I look into her eyes and wish that I could somehow communicate to her that the freakin' poop is about to hit the fan. As it is a firmly established tradition in this family, Mona/ChickyBaby has been our child in all aspects of the word. We have made a habit of taking her needs into consideration when making household and most life decisions. She receives a ridiculous amount of cuddling in bed and lives in hog heaven because of always receiving her own portion of all lovingly (and messily) prepared gourmet meals. I have poured over a countless amount of books to make sure that we were raising her the right way and even researched developmentally appropriate toys for her (just kidding-she tore them all up but one).

Sure she barks at everything and tries to punk everyone else's dogs, and little girls for that matter. She is stinky and will shove her grimy tongue down just about any ones mouth. But we love the crap out of her.

However, change is inevitable. Lilly (not Puddin' Pop) will be here in less than 2 weeks and all of our lives are going to be wonderfully turned upside down. Mona will have to speak up from now on to get attention and probably food and water. But this does not spell doom for her. She will just have to exercise her brilliance by learning how to adapt to not being the baby anymore. Deep down I am sure that she senses that something is up. She gingerly steps around my enormous belly and is extremely helpful with keeping the snack crumbs cleaned up.

We will see how it goes...which is the point of establishing this blog. I am NOT a scrapbooker. I never get pictures developed and I am rotten with letter writing (not to mention thank you notes-sorry mom-you raised me better than that). But I CAN do this. Lilly's life will be charmed and I want all of you to have the chance to check in and keep up with her. It does take a village and you are a part of hers.

Miro a sus ojos y deseo de alguna manera poder comunicarle que todo se volverá complicado y patas arriba. Es una tradición que ya esta muy establecida en nuestra familia, Mona/ChickyBaby a sido nuestra "niña" en todo sentido. Antes de hacer decisiones en cuanto a la casa, o cambios en nuestras vidas, es un hábito considerar las necesidades de ella ante las de nosotros. Ella recibe toda nuestra atención ..somos unos alcahuetos, duerme en nuestra cama, y come muy bien, ya que recibe su propia porción de comidas gourmet preparadas con mucho amor (y mucho relajo). He leído numerosos libros para asegurarme que la estamos entrenando a ser bien educada, y hasta estudie varios juguetes apropiados para su desarrollo (son bromas, de todos modos los rompió todos, menos uno).

Seguro, le gusta ladrar a todo mundo y trata de mangonear a todos los demás perros, incluso lo hace con niñas pequeñas. Es apestosa y le gusta meterle la lengua sucia en la boca (para dar besitos) de medio mundo. De todos modos, la queremos tal como esta.

Pero el cambio es inevitable. Lilly (no nuestra Puddin' Pop) estará con nosotros en menos de 2 semanas, y todas nuestras vidas van a ser un desastre. Mona tendrá que tratar mas para tener la atención de antes, y probablemente recordarnos darle su comida y agua. Pero no sera el fin del mundo para ella. Nada mas tendrá que demostrarnos su capacidad de aprender a adaptarse a no ser la bebe de la casa. En el fondo, creo que ella sabe que algo esta pasando. Camina con gran cuidado cuando se acerca a mi estomago que esta enorme. Además, colabora mucho en limpiar las migitas de mis golosinas.

Veremos que tal nos va… es exactamente el punto de tener este blog. NO soy una persona que hace álbum de fotos. Nunca llevo a revelar las fotos, y soy horrible mandando cartas (ni voy a mencionar las tarjetas de gracias – discúlpame mama, me enseñaste mejor que eso). Pero SI PUEDO hacer esto. La vida de Lilly sera encantadora y quiero que todos ustedes tengan la oportunidad de visitar este sitio, para poder ver que tal le va. Hay un dicho que dice "Toma toda una comunidad criar un hijo", y usted es parte de la comunidad de Lilly.
