Playing Pretty Pretty Princess

During my pregnancy I declared that I would make sure that Lilly was not socialized into thinking that because she was female, that she needed to love pink, wear bows in her hair and adore princesses. As you can see, despite my efforts, it's happened anyway. The princessification process has commenced. This little froofy number is the Disney version of "My First Princess Dress." If you have been to Disneyland in the last 5 or so years you have probably noticed the Princess Store (or maybe not, because normal people do not pay attention to things like that). It is where little girls go to select their first, lacy, satin, sequined organza extravaganza.They then pair it up with the matching tiara, jewelry and teeny high heels. It is a frenzy of shiny, plastic, fairly expensive girl junk. Sounds crazy right?Oh, but to see them go. I have witnessed the hysteriaand I am fairly certain that the grandmas will not be able to resist. Princess Belle, formally known as Lilly is definately in our future.I know this for sure because this little girl acted transformed when I put this dress on her. If she was able to walk, she would have been twirling. She started posing and snuggling and workin' that camera. To add to the girlyness, she came home from vacation with Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. An actual baby purse, not the book.

Jugando de Princesita Linda

Durante mi embarazo yo tome la decisión que solo porque iba tener una niña, no iba criar a Lilly a ser niña quien cree que solo por ser niña le tenían que gustar las cosas rosadas, le tiene que gustar usar chongas en el pelo, ni que fuera a adorar a las princesas. Pero como pueden ver, a pesar de mis esfuerzos, esas cosas han pasado. A empezado el hecho de hacerla en una princesa. Este vestido fru fru es de Disney, ellos le venden como “mi primer vestido de princesa”. Si han visitado a Disneylandia en los últimos 5 años, probablemente han visto la tienda de Princesas (o quizás no, ya que la gente normal no se fija en cosas asi). Es adonde las niñas pequeñas van a seleccionar su primer ropita extravagante con encaje, lentejuelas, de satín y organza. Entonces, les vende una coronita que les matiza, joyas y zapatos de tacón en miniatura. Es una locura de cosas caras y brillantes hechas de plástico, cosas disponibles. Suena como una locura, ¿no les parece? A pero como les llegue cliente. Eh sido testigo de la histeria en esa tienda y tengo mucha confianzas que las abuelas de Lilly no van a poder resistirla. Lilly definitivamente tiene un poco de princesa, nos espera en un futuro una princesa. Estoy segura de esto porque esta niña se a transformado completamente cuando le puse este vestido. Si pudiera caminar, estuviera dando vueltas. Empezó a posar y acurrucarse y estaba puro modelo con la cámara. Para agregarle mas a su transformación, regreso a casa de una vacación con mi mama con la Cartera Plástica y Morada de Lilly. En verdad es una cartera, no estoy hablando del libro (hay una foto de los dos arriba).
