Girlies

Lilly and Robin at the mall
They were fighting over the bright red princess purse. I thought it was funny. Some girls might just be preprogrammed for liking girly stuff. I suspect that these two might be that type.

Holy Crap!

Lilly is going to kill me for this one day but it is so funny that I cannot leave it out. The other day I seized a rare opportunity and threw her on her toilet seat to try for her first dookie. It went down well and she did accomplish her first potty shidoobie. The next day she walked into the living room, pointed to her tummy and said, "poo, poo." She then led me into the bathroom to get back onto her seat. I was surprised at her precociousness but figured that she is at the right age to get going on potty training. She is just letting us know that she is ready. But here is the part that blew me away. She insisted on having a book to look at while she was sitting there and when she was done, she grabbed some toilet paper and reached back like she was wiping. She is a crackup! It made me realize how observant she truly is. We all need to be on our best behavior these days. We also need to get a better latch on that door. She tends to bust in pretty much whenever she wants, obviously.

Aw. What a Feelin'!

Is it possible to tell your child that you love them, too often.  Is it possible to hug and smooch and cuddle them more than you should?  I suppose she will let me know when she needs space.  She did recently tell us, "No, no, no, no!" for the first time.  But that was because I kept trying to get her to eat some stinky ol' asparagus.

Hog Heaven

We decided to sneak off to the fair for some pure indulgence.  We don't trust Carnies enough to ride the rides so we go for the FOOD!  Fat, fatty, fat, fat.  That's what we are now.  But
can you blame us?  I know for a fact that some of you who read this blog absolutely share in taking the same hedonistic approach to gorging yourself into an oblivion every time the fair comes back into town.  It is so sinfully irresistible!  And so easy to get damn good and  wonderfully lost in the smorgasbord of saucy, greasy, deliciousness.  We managed to eat King Taco, guacamole and chips, a deep fried White Castle slider and a whole crap load of other stuff.

Lilly, sampling a delicacy.  Guacamole.  Look at that dexterity.  She is a genius eater, I tell ya.
It was an outrageously hot day so we sought refuge at Hussong's Cantina.

We went for the monster fans and the guacamole only.  Okay, we might have had a margarita.
We all had to find ways to keep cool.

Yep.  This is my mommy hat.  My mom has a matching mommy hat.  Lilly likes it.

Lilly and Rene honky
tonkin' in the farm area of the fair.

It was a good day.  We all left content and  exhausted.

Davey's 2nd Birthday

Waiting patiently for the pinata to be busted open.
The Frenzy
She instinctively gathered her goods.

She's got somebody wrapped around her chubby little finger.
